The Effects of Ionizing Radiation

Description: This session will provide participants with an understanding of the magnitude of the absorbed dose from ionizing radiation required to produce deterministic effects, as well as provide an understanding of the signs and symptoms associated with the radiation sickness syndrome.  There will also be a discussion regarding the physiological response of humans to very high absorbed doses of ionizing radiation.
