West Nile Virus: An Update for Physicians

Description: An overview of the West Nile Virus including epidemiology, clinical course of disease, modes of transmission, risk factors, and treatment and prevention options.  Course objectives are to state the epidemiology of the West Nile Virus and recite the reservoir host, to describe the clinical course of the West Nile Fever and West Nile Disease, to list the modes of transmission of the West Nile Virus, to state three risk factors for contracting West Nile Disease, and to describe several sources of prevention from West Nile infection.
